I bought this printer from another major retailer, and the printer arrived with a broken fuser unit, that is, it was unusable from the start. I had to make arrangements to return it, and the experience was quite disappointing.

Just so you folks know there is no USB cable and you have to buy it separately and the ink cartridge that comes with it will only print $250 pages. Really annoying because I needed the printer urgently and I expected the USB cable to be a mater of course. Don’t make the same mistake.

I give this printer 1 star! Why? Because there is NO UBS cable coming with it.

And I didn’t realize it until 15 minutes ago. I have exam next Monday! I bought it for the exam. I read the description again and I CANNOT find anywhere mentions it. Maybe it’s a common sense that a laser printer never, ever coming with essential USB cable but I genuinely don’t know this rule. I wish I could mark this printer 0 star! I wish I had read user comments before I bought it. What a mistake I’ve made!

Sorry AMAZON, I got this for $60 plus $5 shipping at Staples. I got it the next day unlike AMAZON so call Snail free shipping. One reason I don’t like AMAZON is their super slow free shipping compared to other sites where there free shipping takes only a few days. I bought this as a repalcement of my nightmare Samsung CLP 300 color laser printer. The damn samsung lasted for a year and I’ve been from hell and back with that beast. even thought this Brother was also cheap, I never had problems with Brother products in the past. I will only get a Brother from now on.

I’ve had nothing but trouble with this printer since I bought it 6 months ago at Office Max. It allows me print off the web ONLY if I’m using Explorer, rather than my normal browser (Mozilla). It won’t print jpegs, and even in regular Word documents it gets confused if the doc is over 30 pages. I’ve wasted a ton of paper trying to get documents printed completely and correctly.

I took it back to Office Max and they replaced it with the same model for free, but the same problems remained, even though I reloaded the software. When I called customer support, their only advice was–”When you want to print a jpeg, save it in a Word document” or, “Don’t use Mozilla.” There’s no advice about how to prevent it from skipping pages.

Even though it’s still under warranty, there’s no way to remedy the situation. If I send it back, I’ll be without a printer for a month or so–all I can do is to keep using it until I just can’t stand it any more.
